Raku

Come to Iremía Pottery to enjoy the magic of Raku! Georgina has been raku-firing for four years now and runs two-day experiences from her home studio in Bishop’s Tachbrook, just outside Leamington and Warwick.

The first day is spent handbuilding pots using simple, traditional Japanese techniques such as Kirinuki, and the second, glazing those pots and experiencing the hands-on raku-firing experience!

The workshops are suitable for complete beginners and those who already have some ceramics experience. The studio is also small and friendly, so you’ll have plenty of help and guidance in the making and glazing of pots, and also during the firing process.

Health and safety are especially important during Raku, so expect to don lots of PPE if you want to get close to the action!

Most of all though, expect to have a great time, meet new and like-minded people and bond over the beauty and unpredictable nature of Raku.
