Georgina can also provide printable gift vouchers for no extra cost (hardcopy posted vouchers are £4). There are just five wheels at Iremía Pottery, so you’ll have lots of help and guidance! When booking, please let Georgina know if you’d like to book a space for someone under the age of 13. There are no additional costs for clay or firing.

TASTER SESSIONS ON THE WHEEL!
These are for people with little or no experience of throwing. Classes begin with a short intro to ceramics and equipment, followed by a throwing demo. Then you’ll get to throw for yourself! Most people make 2 — 4 pots in a session. You’ll take away a Pottery for Beginners booklet on the day and Georgina will glaze and fire all your pots for collection later.

FULL DAY WHEEL-THROWING EXPERIENCE!
*Suitable for complete beginners and those with a little experience on the wheel*
Spend the day practising your wheel-throwing technique with lots of hands-on help and guidance from Georgina. At the end of the day, you’ll also be able to turn and trim your first pot on the wheel and decorate it using slip and sgraffito. You get to keep everything you make, and Georgina will glaze and fire all your pots for collection at a later date. Drinks and snacks will be provided throughout the day, along with lunch.

Open to complete beginners and those with experience! The first day is spent handbuilding pots using simple, traditional Japanese techniques such as Kirinuki, and the second, glazing those pots and experiencing the hands-on raku-firing experience! The groups are small and friendly, so everyone gets lots of help and guidance and will have the opportunity to assist with the raku firing. Lunch and refreshments will be provided on both days.
Courses on the Wheel
All courses are for beginners or those with only a little knowledge of throwing. The two-week courses involve throwing and also turning (trimming your pot on the wheel and creating a foot), and in the 5-week+ courses, you will experience all the processes involved in creating ceramics. Sessions will begin with an intro to techniques and a demo, and each week you will throw, turn and decorate, or glaze. You can keep everything you make and will take away a Pottery for Beginners booklet. Georgina fires all your pots for collection later.

Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds
Please note: 4 weeks’ notice is required for cancellations, reschedulings and refunds. If the notice period is less than this, Iremía Pottery will attempt to resell your spot, however this, and therefore the refund/rescheduling, cannot be guaranteed. Gift vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
