Classes

Georgina runs throwing classes from her home studio in Bishop’s Tachbrook.

You can attend a single taster session on the wheel or do a five-week course.

The studio is equipped with four wheels and an electric kiln so you can see how your work transforms from a lump of clay to a fabulous ceramic object!

Georgina has been teaching pottery for the last three years (adults and children from age seven) and has over twenty years’ experience teaching languages.

She has a postgraduate teaching diploma from the University of Glasgow and is a member of the Higher Education Academy.

Taster sessions begin with an intro to ceramics and a demo. Then you get to throw yourself! Class sizes are small (there are just four wheels), so you’ll have lots of help and guidance.

During the session, most people throw three or four pots. Georgina then fires and glazes them for collection at a later date.

Georgina also runs courses on the potter’s wheel at beginner’s or continuing beginner’s level.

You’ll learn to throw (or improve) and trim your pot on the wheel, and decorate and glaze your own work. Georgina will fire all your makes for collection at a later date.
